Week 11: The Los Angeles Rams fall to the Miami Dolphins 14-10 in Goff’s debut

The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Miami Dolphins 14-10 in first-overall draft pick Jared Goff’s debut this Sunday, Nov. 20th. In a defensive game, the Rams had a 10-0 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. The Dolphins came back with a Ryan Tannehill touchdown pass to Jarvis Landry and another to DeVante Parker with 36 seconds left to steal the win.

Goff completed 17 of 31 passes for 134 yards. The rookie looked poised in his first start and made no serious mistakes. Todd Gurley carried the ball 20 times for 75 yards and a touchdown. The Rams’ defense sacked Tannehill four times (Lamarcus Joyner 1, Robert Quinn 1 and Dominique Easley 2). Maurice Alexander intercepted Tannehill in the end zone to prevent an earlier Dolphins’ scoring attempt.

The main issue for the Rams’ loss was penalties in the fourth quarter. Take away the penalties and the Rams could have taken the victory.

The 4-6 Rams travel to New Orleans to face the 4-6 Saints next Sunday, Nov. 27th at 10 AM PST.
