The Los Angeles Rams crushed the San Francisco 49ers 39-10 at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, October 21. Defensive tackled Aaron Donald led the Rams with four sacks. Los Angeles improved to 7-0 for the first time since 1985.
The 49ers never really got into the game. They turned the ball over three times in the first half and suffered a blocked punt by Rams linebacker Corey Littleton, which resulted in a safety. Meanwhile, the rest of the Rams defense more than did their part, forcing a total of four turnovers and sacking 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard seven times.
Offensively, the Rams played with a short field for much of the day, which resulted in only 331 yards total offense. However, they certainly used their opportunities. Rams quarterback Jared Goff completed 18 of 24 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, running back Todd Gurley compiled 86 total yards and three scores of his own. Backup running back Malcolm Brown led the team in rushing with 65 yards.
The undefeated Rams return home for a possible playoff preview against the Green Bay Packers next Sunday, October 28.
