The Los Angeles Rams unveiled via Twitter that they have signed journeyman kicker, Kai Forbath. The Rams actually scooped up Forbath off the Chicago Bears’ practice squad, which oddly enough, they play this upcoming Monday night.

This moves comes after rookie kicker Sam Sloman has got off to a rough start to the 2020 season. The Miami (OH) kicker so far hit seven of nine field goal attempts and 15/18 extra point attempts. To have such a low extra point percentage or struggling with kickoffs has caused plenty of frustration within the Rams community.
The addition of Forbath may serve as yet another competition to Sloman. Sloman initially won the offseason competition against kickers Austin MacGinnis and Lirim Hajrullahu.
It’s not clear whether or not Forbath is expected to start or handle some of the responsibility, but for now, both Forbath and Sloman are on the roster. To make space for Fortbath, the Rams have placed Ogbonnia Okoronkwo on the IR.
Forbath hasn’t had a stable home for awhile. The former UCLA kicker played for the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots last season. Forbath finished last season 11/11 in field goals and 11/12 in extra points.
