Eric Weddle

The Rams moved on from safety LaMarcus Joyner in free agency this year and decided to add more of a veteran presence with Eric Weddle. While Weddle is nearing the end of his career and not the most athletic player on the field, he adds a high football IQ that Wade Phillips and Sean McVay love.
Cameron DaSilva, managing editor at Ramswire for USA TODAY, came on the Rams Uncensored podcast earlier this week and shared that he felt the addition of Weddle makes this defensive backs group even better than last year. Though Weddle is not going to be over-looked by any team, I believe, he will quietly help the Rams passing defense. A nice coaching-assist by the veteran safety.
