The Los Angeles Rams offense had the worst season of Sean McVay’s tenure thus far. Sean McVay’s playcalling was odd at times. Jared Goff regressed mightily. Todd Gurley had one of his worst seasons to date. The offensive line struggled. It just wasn’t at all what fans became accustomed to from 2017-2018.
Although McVay has always been the playcaller since arriving in Los Angeles, it is always nice to have another mind for checks and balances. The Rams saw Matt LaFleur leave for the Tennessee Titans after the 2017 season. In 2018, the Rams did not have an offensive coordinator opting instead to promote Shane Waldron to passing game coordinator and Aaron Kromer to running game coordinator. The Rams lost Quarterbacks Coach Zac Taylor to the Cincinnati Bengals after the 2018 season.
The 2019 season saw the same combination of Shane Waldron and Aaron Kromer. The offense wasn’t the same for various reasons. Maybe it is time for McVay to hire an offensive coordinator again. Somebody to bounce ideas with and help with the gameplan. This could help the Rams offense return to form. So what names could the Rams consider?
