Week 6 NFC West roundup: Division waking up from brief slumber

The race for divisional supremacy in the NFC West continued in Week 6. The St. Louis Rams won their second straight game as they thrashed the Houston Texans in a decisive 38-13 victory, which improved their record to 3-3. The San Francisco 49ers moved to 4-2 on the year and also earned second place in the NFC West with their 32-20 victory over the now 3-3 Arizona Cardinals. The Seattle Seahawks won a close game against the Tennessee Titans, 20-13, which kept them in first place with a 5-1 mark.

Team Notes:

  • St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford completed 12 of his 16 passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns. Zac Stacy rushed for 79 yards on 18 attempts. Defensively, Alec Ogletree was all over the field, racking up 10 tackles and one interception that was returned 98 yards for a touchdown. Michael Brockers recorded seven tackles and two sacks in his best game as a Ram. Daren Bates recovered a fumble and returned it 11 yards to the end zone during a kick return.
  • San Francisco 49ers: Colin Kaepernick passed for 252 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Frank Gore rushed for a total of 101 yards. Kaepernick’s favorite target was Vernon Davis, who caught eight passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Carlos Rogers and Patrick Willis combined for a total of 16 tackles and one interception.
  • Arizona Cardinals: Carson Palmer passed for 298 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Larry Fitzgerald caught five passes for 117 yards and had one touchdown. Karlos Dansby compiled 11 tackles and had a half a sack. Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell combined for a total of 8 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
  • Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson passed for 257 yards and ran for 61 yards. Marshawn Lynch rushed for 77 yards with two touchdowns, and caught four passes for 78 yards. Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman combined for a total of 10 tackles and two interceptions.
