The St. Louis Rams dropped their second game of the season against the Arizona Cardinals in a 12-6 defensive brawl on Thursday, December 11.
Defense was the name of this game and Rams’ quarterback Shaun Hill felt the pressure. He took seven hits, sacked twice and pressured throughout the entire game. He did pass for 229 yards and had one interception. Running back Tre Mason ran for 33 yards on 13 carries, and wide receivers Stedman Bailey and Kenny Britt combined for a total of 10 receptions for 139 yards.
Neither team made it into the endzone, but the Cardinals took advantage of the few opportunities that were presented to them. One of those opportunities came on a Mason fumble, which resulted in one of four Chandler Catanzaro field goals. Greg Zuerlein kicked two field goals to provide the only points of the game for the Rams.
The game ended with two failed opportunities late in the fourth quarter. Once the Rams failed to convert on fourth down and the other an interception to seal the game for the Cardinals.
The Rams will host the New York Giants on Sunday, December 21 at the Edward Jones Dome.
