The St. Louis Rams are reportedly bringing back wide receiver Kenny Britt. He signed a two-year deal worth $14 million with $4.3 million of it is guaranteed, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.
The Rams experimented with Britt last season to see if he can be identified as a true No. 1 receiver. The results were mixed and inconclusive. At times, Britt did show signs that he can be that go-to receiver, but other times he disappeared. Britt recorded 48 receptions for 748 yards and had three touchdown catches.
That said, part of the blame had to be the quarterback situation. Quarterback Sam Bradford never had the opportunity to throw it to Britt during the regular season after tearing his ACL in the preseason. Austin Davis and Shaun Hill then struggled to feed him the football consistently. Britt was partly responsible with a few dropped passes, but he wasn’t the only one at fault since he was only able to catch 57 percent of his passes thrown to him.
Britt will rejoin the likes of Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Brian Quick in a second attempt to make the offense work, only this time it will Nick Foles will be passing them the football.
