The Los Angeles Rams provided some much needed depth at outside linebacker by adding Alabama OLB Terrell Lewis. The Rams shifted their attention to defense after spending their first two picks on offense.
The Rams lost Dante Fowler earlier this offseason. They did sign Leonard Floyd and still have Samson Ebukam. Lewis could compete for a starting role or playing time if he shows promise during training camp or preseason.
Lewis is a huge athlete, standing a 6-foot-5-inches and weighing about 262 pounds. He’s great at observing the ball placement and reacts accordingly. Will usually be around the play in some form or another. The biggest knock is durability. Lewis hasn’t been healthy for most of his collegiate career. He will also need to get stronger to make more use of his massive frame.
Technically speaking, Lewis only played in 14 total games and earned 47 tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, seven sacks and three pass deflections. It’s difficult to say how Lewis will develop in the NFL, but this appears to be a boom-or-bust pick.
