The Los Angeles Rams announced via Twitter that they have placed a first-round tender on restricted free agent Darious Williams.
We've placed a first-round tender on RFA Darious Williams.

By placing a first-round tender on Williams, the Rams have a chance to bring him back in 2021 on a one-year, $4.677 million contract. Teams could match the tender but they would need to surrender a first round pick too.
The Rams made Williams a top priority of free agency and for a good reason. Williams had an incredible 2020 season and became one of the NFL’s top corners opposite of Jalen Ramsey. In 2020, he earned 44 tackles, four interceptions and 14 pass deflections.
The Rams do have some critical free agents and the majority of them will likely not be back in 2021. It’s unlikely that any team will match the Rams’ tender so bringing back Williams for 2021 is huge. The secondary unit in particular is a bit of concern because guys like John Johnson and Troy Hill are likely not coming back next season.
