The Los Angeles Rams, head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead have reportedly agreed to a contract extension. Though the terms aren’t clear just yet, both McVay and Snead will remain with the team through 2023, according ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry.
It makes sense that the Rams sign both McVay and Snead to extensions considering the rapid and recent success. While both are technically under contract, the threat of other teams targeting them this upcoming offseason is real. McVay especially could have seen offers since he is still on his “rookie” head coach contract.
Now that the Rams’ head coach and general manager are locked in, the team can focus on the upcoming season. This is just the start of contracts that the Rams will have to consider. Players like Jared Goff, Michael Brockers and John Johnson are set to expire in the near future. One thing is certain, McVay and Snead are the essential foundation of the past Super Bowl team, so they must be doing something right.
