The Los Angeles Rams have reportedly cut CB Kayvon Webster. This move comes after the Rams acquired CBs Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib, according to NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Webster was the odd man out after the Rams re-signed CB Nickell-Robey Coleman. Coleman emerged and solidified himself as a starter opposite to Trumaine Johnson last season. Webster was initially penciled in as the starter. but struggled at times and battled through injuries throughout the season.
The reality is that Webster would likely be placed too low on the depth chart. The Rams are also scrambling to find methods to ease cap space after conducting a plethora of high profile transactions this offseason. Cutting him will save approximately $3.17 million to the salary cap.
Webster was in the final year of his 2-year, $7.75 million contract. Last season, he earned 34 tackles, seven pass deflections and one interception in 11 games.
