One word comes to mind in the Los Angeles Rams’ 30-27 victory over the Carolina Panthers, rusty. Ok, sloppy works too. It was expected for the Rams to suffer from rust, but they didn’t really shake it off for the most part. (Please refrain from pointing out the obvious Taylor Swift reference.) Here are my observations:
1. Jared Goff was off
It’s not a huge surprise that Goff was a little rusty. For most of the game, he wasn’t hitting his targets like normal. He was usually a hair off, and didn’t make smart decisions. While I am giving him the benefit of the doubt now, he needs to snap out of it soon. The schedule only gets tougher. The offensive line did provide enough time for Goff to throw for the most part. I do expect him to return to form this week at home against the New Orleans Saints.
