In his evening press conference on Monday, Los Angeles Rams’ Head Coach Jeff Fisher confirmed an earlier team statement that defensive end Robert Quinn was admitted to a local hospital on Monday morning for a non-football related illness. Fisher stated the he was encouraged by the updates he had received on the defensive lineman.
“I spoke with Rob several hours ago, in addition to Christina, his wife,” Fisher said. “He was, in fact, admitted to the hospital this morning for tests. He’s feeling much better. He kept saying to me over and over, ‘Coach, I just want to get back and get my body right and get back to the practice field as fast as I can.’ So, we’re still undergoing tests, and things look encouraging.”
Fisher stated that the issue appears to have happened after Quinn left the Rams’ facility following the return trip home from New Jersey. “He was fine after the game,” according to Fisher. “As a matter of fact, he sits behind me on the bus and we had the long bus ride back from the airport. I was actually sharing some thoughts on the game, and watching some plays from the game with him.”
Fisher also stated that this is the first time an issue of this nature has come up. He also said that it’s highly unlikely this issue is related to any issue Quinn’s had in the past. We will keep you informed as more information arises.
