The Los Angeles Rams may have found Marqui Christian’s replacement with the selection of Ohio State S Jordan Fuller 199th overall of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Rams are thin at the safety position behind John Johnson and Taylor Rapp. Behind them at the moment is Jake Gervase and Nick Scott. Scott is more of a special teamer and newly added Terrell Burgess will likely be more of a nickle-corner.
While Fuller is a sixth-round draft pick, he will likely need to earn a spot on the roster. The Rams have a knack for scouting safeties and that includes prospects they pick up as undrafted free agents.
Fuller doesn’t have the stamina to really cover some of the speedier foes, but may be a good match to send out to cover tight ends. Not always a reliable tackler, but always seems to find his way to the ball-carrier.
In four seasons with the Buckeyes, Fuller earned 216 tackles, five interceptions, 10 pass deflections and three fumble recoveries.
