Over the last few weeks, images of a new Rams logo have leaked and have been confirmed by multiple sources. The general public made their voices heard of their hatred for the new logo. Many have pointed out that the logo appeared to represent the Rams’ new roommate, the Los Angeles Chargers.
One thing is undeniable though, the conversations surrounding the Rams have grown in volume as we impatiently wait for the new uniforms and logo to officially drop. The Rams have to be listening to the fans, right? That’s what I am going to explore here today.
While the reviews of the new logo with the slogan, “Time to Shine” being exclusively negative, it’s tough to see the silver lining in all of this. However, the old saying “all press is good press” does come into play here. Since coming to L.A. in 2016, the Rams have almost been a non-factor in the public eye. The fact that so many people are chiming in about the logo shows the fan base has grown. It shows that the team’s support in their hometown is starting to finally come around. This makes choosing the new logo, color scheme and uniforms all the more important.
The next question has to be “are the organizational officials listening?” With the way Kevin Demoff has been tweeting, changing his profile picture and all-around trolling fans, I have to imagine that he knows something that we don’t. Either this whole thing is a clever ruse to get people talking about the Rams logo while having fun messing with them or this is a legitimate test and they are reworking said logo. Nothing done within the business world is done by accident, so I have to imagine this is no different.
In truth, I enjoy the trolling from Demoff over the last two weeks on Twitter, and I have the utmost faith in the Rams organization to not let us down with the new uniforms, logo and color scheme. The only thing that remains the same is that the organization wants to modernize for the future. There have also been talks of the new jerseys being absolutely spectacular. I guess we will have to wait and see, but there are a lot of positives to be taken away from the situation. If nothing else, the Rams have been the talk of the offseason and that can’t be bad for business.
Let’s be real, whatever the jerseys and logo turnout to be, many fans, like myself, will buy whatever they put out. We will get a first glimpse Monday, March 23 at noon PT. The Rams will display everything on their social media. As the rest of Rams Nation, we’ll be watching at waiting.
