Florida EDGE Jachai Polite:
An edge rusher from Florida, Polite is a talented pass rusher. I know what you’re thinking. Showed up in bad shape, did poorly in interviews, etc. But Polite’s tape is really good. He has the potential to collect double digit sacks if he puts it all together. Sometimes, it takes that one coach or organization to unlock a prospects true potential.
Polite displays active hands, good bend, strong effort and awareness on tape. Obviously, interviews and visits with teams is key in Polite’s evaluation and we’re not privy to that information. But all it takes is one team. Per Polite, he had a good meeting with the Rams at the NFL Combine. The Rams also hosted him for one of their 30 pre-draft visits. Polite has top 15 talent and if the Rams feel like the pre-draft failure by Polite is correctable or just not who he truly is as a person and prospect, I can’t imagine not selecting him. If they were to select him a 31, I would trust that they vetted him well and felt that he was just too good to pass up.
