Ryan Groy
Timothy T. Ludwig/USA Today Sports
Ryan Groy was almost signed by the Rams in 2017. He has familiarity with Aaron Kromer from his time with the Buffalo Bills where he saw significant snaps at center and guard. He is a good pass blocker and a solid run blocker. His ability to play three different spots on the line lends value to him as a backup. He is also rarely penalized. He has only given up one sack in his entire career. A one to two-year deal for $1-2 million would benefit both.
With the ability to create cap space and sign bargain free agents the Rams could keep some more of their own players as well as set themselves up for better cap management in the future. We saw bargain free agents work out for other teams this year with Shaq Barret to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Quinton Spain to the Buffalo Bills and Bashaud Breeland to the Kansas City Chiefs.
