Week 7: Los Angeles Rams crush the Arizona Cardinals 33-0 in London

The third time’s the charm. The Los Angeles Rams dismantled the Arizona Cardinals 33-0 at Twickenham Stadium in London on Sunday, October 22. The first-place Rams improved to 5-2, while the Cardinals fell to 3-4 on the season.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff completed 22 of 37 passes for 235 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Running back Todd Gurley continued his dominant run this season. He recorded 22 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown. He also caught four passes for 48 yards, including a long of 35 yards.

Defensively, the Rams put together a complete performance, earning their first shutout since 2014. Aaron Donald, Matt Longacre and Robert Quinn all earned a sack, while Mark Barron and Lamarcus Joyner each recorded an interception. The unit bottled up Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson, who managed only 21 yards on 11 carries.

The Cardinals struggled throughout the day. Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer completed only 10 of 18 passes for 122 yards and an interception before suffering a broken arm in the second quarter. His backup, Drew Stanton, fared worse. He completed only 5 of 14 passes for 62 yards and and interception.

The win is the first for the Rams in London after two previous losses in the current International Series. The team previous lost 45-7 to the New England Patriots in 2012, and 17-10 to the New Giants last year.
