The St. Louis Rams traded wide receiver Chris Givens to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2017 seventh round draft pick. The move was announced earlier today according to ESPN.com beat writer Nick Wagoner.
The move was mutually beneficial since the Ravens were becoming thin at wide receiver, and they needed someone to stretch the field. The Rams finally activated Brian Quick, who is expected to contribute this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Running back Trey Watts will likely fill Givens’s spot when he comes back from suspension after this week.
It was thought that Givens could bounce back this season after having an impressive preseason. However, in three games this season he has only been targeted one time, and it was for a seven-yard reception. Unfortunately, Givens failed to improve on his rookie season when he registered 42 receptions for 698 yards in 2o12.
