The Los Angeles Rams continue their string of trades, this time dealing CB Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens for LB Kenny Young. The Rams will also receive an undisclosed 2020 NFL Draft pick according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.
The Rams acquired Peters last season to boost their secondary. He’s had mixed results since coming to Los Angeles. The Ravens have been actively seeking help with the cornerback position. Peters will likely be the cornerback they need to make their defense even better.
Meanwhile, the Rams add Kenny Young to their defense. The sophomore linebacker returns to Los Angeles after being drafted out of UCLA in the fourth round (122nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Young is a true ILB, a position the Rams haven’t had in quite some time other than Cory Littleton. This season, the Rams have been playing a mixture of Taylor Rapp, Marqui Christian and Bryce Hager to the opposite side of Littleton. The Rams were hoping Micah Kiser would be the starter, but had a season-ending injury during the offseason.
This now leaves some concern at cornerback now that Aqib Talib is on the injury reserved list with an apparent rib injury. Unless another move happens, the Rams will have to roll with Troy Hill and Nickell Robey-Coleman as their starters.
Young started three of the five games this season with the Ravens had picked up 13 total tackles and one forced fumble.
