The Los Angeles Rams will reportedly re-sign veteran defensive tackle Cam Thomas, according to his agent David Carter. Thomas was one of the players cut to trim the roster down to 53 players.
It was shocking to see Thomas as one of the players cut, especially since he did well during the preseason. The move could have been to readjust his current contract, though contract details aren’t known at the moment. If the reports are true, Thomas will become the fifth defensive tackle on the roster, joining Aaron Donald, Michael Brockers, Dominique Easley and Ethan Westbrooks.
Thomas is the San Diego Chargers’ former fifth round pick (146th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. He signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014 and then signed with the Rams this offseason. Thomas started 25 of the 85 games he participated in and registered 74 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
