The departures continue with the Los Angeles Rams, this time involving TE Gerald Everett and DE Morgan Fox. Everett signed with the NFC West division rivals, the Seattle Seahawks on a 1-year, $6 million contract.
The #Seahawks are signing TE Gerald Everett to a 1-year deal worth $6M, source said. The former #Rams TE finds a home.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise unless you missed the 2020 NFL Draft. The Rams technically already have Everett’s replacement on the roster in Brycen Hopkins. With Tyler Higbee as the current starter and the cap space being non-existent, the writing was on the wall for Everett’s departure.
Unfortunately, the Rams will still see Everett twice in 2021. This is likely a “prove it” contract since the Seahawks do have somewhat of a need at TE. He will likely be competing against Will Dissly for playing time.
Everett has plenty of potential and didn’t really breakout in Los Angeles. Still, he’s had some pretty big moments. In his 4-year career with the Rams, he earned 127 receptions, 1,389 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
DE Morgan Fox
Meanwhile, the Rams will need to look for some DE depth after Morgan Fox signed a 2-year, $8.1 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. About $7 million of the contract is guaranteed.
It's a two-year, $8.1 million deal for Morgan Fox, who gets $7M guaranteed. Another pass rusher for Carolina. https://t.co/IV8kaLtsJp

The Panthers have a plethora of needs, but pass rushers was a must for 2021. Fox came out of nowhere last season for the Rams. Fox had to fight for a roster spot, but turned out to be one of the best signings for the Rams in 2020.
In a reserved role, Fox earned 27 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Fox is a bigger loss to the Rams than most realize.
