NFL Week 1: Los Angeles Rams shutout against San Francisco 28-0

The Los Angeles Rams fell to the San Francisco 49ers 28-0 in their first game of the 2016 season.

In a game that was frustrating for Rams fans to watch, the Rams were held scoreless in San Francisco. The 49ers shut down Todd Gurley and forced the Rams into seven three and out drives. They pressured Case Keenum and didn’t allow the offense to do anything. They’ll go back to the drawing board for Week 2.

The defense looked solid at times, but didn’t live up to their sky high expectations. The 49ers posted over 300 total yards and took advantage of a tired Rams defense. The offense failed to stay on the field and it drained the defense. Dominique Easley forced their lone turnover and the team recorded no sacks.

The Rams lost their composure at times with team captains Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald both picking up unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Donald was ejected in the fourth quarter.

The Los Angeles Rams make their long awaited home debut against the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday.
