L.A. Rams Roundup: Work in the community, hosting Super Bowls, and offseason grades

The news surrounding the Los Angeles Rams has calmed since the 2016 NFL Draft, but there are still a few stories circulating. Here are some interesting pieces concerning the Rams from many local and national news outlets across the country:

The Rams and the community: It hasn’t taken long for the Rams to get involved in the Los Angeles community. The team website highlighted two major events this week on its website. First, the Rams took part in the Los Angeles Unified School District 5K at Dodger Stadium. Second, the team hosted its first NFL PLAY 60 event in Inglewood. The Rams website has video of both events.

Offseason grades: ESPN’s Bill Barnwell submitted his offseason grades for the NFC West, and let’s just say that he wasn’t exactly kind to the Rams in his report.

Season Tickets: The L.A. Times’ Sam Farmer answered questions this week on purchasing tickets to see the Rams in Los Angeles this season. It’s worth a read if you have any questions or concerns.

Super Bowl in L.A.: Orange County Register writer Vincent Bonsignore notes that the NFL is poised to award the Super Bowl in either 2020 or 2021 to Los Angeles. The Rams’ return to the City of Angels finally enables the league to make its eighth appearance in the country’s No. 2 media market.

Speaking of L.A.: Our own Skye Sverdlin spent some time this week taking a look at L.A. and its status as a sports town. His point overall? There is plenty of things to do in L.A., but that doesn’t mean the city won’t turn out to support the Rams.

Hard Knocks: Our Johnny Gomez gives us five things to watch for on this year’s season of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” Needless to say, there will be plenty of coverage concerning rookie quarterback Jared Goff and the team’s adjustment to L.A.
