So as mentioned above, the Rams don’t have much to offer when it comes to packaging NFL Draft picks. That said, the Rams do have a few players to offer that the Lions might interested in. The Rams have a surplus in offensive weapons and the Lions might appreciate having some proven talent on their roster.

One player that comes immediately to mind is Todd Gurley. This might be a little too much in the Rams’ favor, especially since the Rams are reportedly evaluating their position with the veteran running back. The Lions do have Kerryon Johnson, but behind him are a bunch of unproven talents. Having a Johnson/Gurley backfield could be dangerous. “Bad knee” or not, Gurley is still a force to be reckoned with in the end zone. This may be exactly the role Gurley needs to thrive again, and the Lions may have a dangerous ground game to contend with a tough NFC North division. This solves several problems for the Rams. This clears up some cap space for 2020 and the future and allows the Rams to restructure their ground game.

A more likely scenario is packaging wide receiver Brandin Cooks. The Lions struggled finding consistent receivers last season. Kenny Golladay is talented and one of the more underrated receivers in the NFL. Aside from him, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola are about the only ones that will occasionally make an impact. Adding an explosive deep-threat weapon in Cooks may be an enticing option for the Lions offense. In regards to the Rams, it also clears cap space and adds the threat of Slay.
