Austin Blythe was drafted by the Indianapolis Colt in the seventh round (248th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. The Iowa standout appeared in eight games and started in one. He was eventually cut earlier this offseason.
He wasn’t a free agent for long as the Los Angeles Rams swooped in to sign him the following day. His collegiate success likely sparked general manager Les Snead’s interest. Blythe is a long-shot to make the roster as a center, but could make the practice squad if he impresses enough.
