Greg Zuerlein (UFA)
The Rams’ long-time kicker had a down year to say the least with nine missed field goals in 2019. The fan favorite dubbed “Greg the Leg,” “Young GZ” and “Legatron” did not play the way those monikers would suggest. With news that Special Teams Coordinator, John “Bones” Fassel is leaving for the Dallas Cowboys, it appears Greg Zuerlein may be on the way out too. Kickers may not seem of high importance but we’ve seen them win big games ala Zuerlein in the 2018 NFC Championship game that sent the New Orleans Saints packing. We’ve also seen kickers lose games ala Cody Parkey and countless others. Zuerlein still has one of the strongest legs in the NFL and posts a career 82% in field goal accuracy. He made five from 50+ in 2019 alone. For some strange reason he struggled in the 40-49 yard range this year. Just know that when it comes to NFL kickers, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence. A deal for Zuerlein probably looks like 3 years/$13.5 million.
