2016 Preseason: The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20 in their second game in LA

The Los Angeles Rams improved their preseason record to 2-0 after beating the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20 on Saturday, Aug. 20th at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Rams’ rookie quarterback Jared Goff completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to running back Malcolm Brown for the game winner.

Rams’ starting quarterback Case Keenum completed 4 of 5 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. Keenum led the Rams’ offense down the field twice before his night was over. Rookie wide receiver Pharoh Cooper scored his first NFL touchdown, after catching an 11-yard Keenum pass. Todd Gurley played one offensive series, carrying the ball four times for 20 yards and a touchdown.

Goff took over for Keenum and completed 8 of 12 passes for 82 yards, a touchdown and a fumble. Malcolm Brown had 12 carries for 68 yards, and two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.

Rams’ wide receiver Bradley Marquez left the game with an ankle injury and his status of his injury is unknown to this point.

The Rams will travel to Denver to face the Broncos next Saturday, Aug. 27th at 6 pm PDT.
